KATHMANDU, May 27: Hearing on writ petitions filed at the Supreme Court against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for May 27 and May 28.
The 19 writ petitions will be taken by a general bench at the apex court today and the rest will be heard on Friday. The writ petitions have been filed seeking a hearing in the Constitutional Court.

A total of 28 writ petitions were registered, of which 24 are in favor of reinstatement of HoR.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the HoR and announced midterm elections for November 12 and November 19 at the recommendations of PM KP Sharma Oli. Following the government’s move, the opposition parties and advocates filed writ petitions.
The petitioners have demanded reinstatement of parliament, appointment of Deuba as the PM and scrap the decision of the cabinet to dissolve the HoR.
