On December 15, 2020, then-Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli recommended appointments to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, the National Human Rights Commission, the Election Commission, and other constitutional bodies. The court has yet to conclude hearings on the writ petitions challenging these appointments, even as the officials' terms near completion.
