Health team off to diarrhoea-hit Dolakha

DOLAKHA, Oct 20: A team of health workers has been sent to the Babare and Khopachagu, both northern rural VDCs of Dolakha where diarrhoea is spreading.



Chief District Officer of Dolakha Shree Krishna Shrestha said the team comprising Dr. Dinesh Shivakot of Charikot Primary Health Centre, health workers and medicine has left for the disease affected areas on Wednesday morning.[break]



Earlier on Tuesday, a team of assistant health workers had left for Khopachagu. Both the teams will reach there on wednesday and start treatment, said Shrestha.



The disease is spreading at the VDCs since Oct 14 and many villagers are said to be suffering from it. Some of the sick are undergoing treatment at Upkar Sewa Pharma, Singati Bazaar. Among them, the condition of Julfe Thami of Babare-2 is said to be serious.



The disease within two days claimed two lives—Somati Thami (83) of Babare-2 and Khadga Bahadur Budhathoki (60) of Khopachagu VDC.
