KATHMANDU, Aug 19: Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 681 new cases of coronavirus across the country in the past 24 hours.
At a virtual press briefing, Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the MoHP said that 681 persons were found infected with coronavirus during 11,522 tests conducted in the past 24 hours at various laboratories across the country.
"With new cases of coronavirus, the country's COVID-19 tally has reached 28, 938," the spokesperson said.

The Kathmandu Valley alone has recorded 159 new cases of COVID-19, he said.
According to him, 120 COVID-19 patients who earlier tested positive for virus were discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.
17,700 persons have been discharged after recovery from various isolation centers since Nepal recorded the first coronavirus case in January, 2020.
With six more COVID-19 related deaths, Nepal's coronavirus death toll has reached 120.
