The committee has been tasked with conducting a feasibility study to identify suitable land and gather necessary suggestions for establishing a national neurosurgery center in the country.
The committee is required to submit its recommendations to the ministry for approval after extensive discussions with experts.
MoHP spokesperson, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, emphasized the need for the center due to the increasing burden of neuro-related diseases. "The study committee was formed through a ministerial-level decision, as it is essential to set up the center to address this situation and ensure that poor people also receive subsidized treatment," he said.
According to the MoHP, neuro-related treatments are currently available only through non-governmental organizations.
