KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada inspected various vaccination centers set up in the main gateways of Kathmandu Valley.
The MoHP has launched a vaccination drive against COVID-19 from November 2 targeting those leaving Kathmandu Valley during the Tihar festival. The vaccination centres were set up at Koteshwor, Gongabu and Kalanki. Health Minister Khatiwada visited the vaccination centre in Koteshwor and Balkhu on Wednesday.
Arguing that vaccination was effective in minimizing the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Minister Khatiwada shared that more such centres would be set up in other places as well. He also informed that the government was going to procure 10 million vaccines from various countries which would be administered to children.
On November 2, some 3,000 people got vaccinated. An additional 10,000 people are expected to receive the vaccines, the Ministry said.
Meanwhile, another vaccination centre has been set up at Gwarko, Lalitpur, on Wednesday.
