As of today, 35 coronavirus patients discharged after recovery : MoHP (with video)

KATHMANDU, May 13: As of today, 35 persons have been discharged from the hospitals after recovery, the Ministry of Health and Population said.

"Today, a 25-year-old male from Butwal and 63-year-old female from Chitwan discharged from the hospitals. With this, the number of persons discharged after recovery has reached 35," spokesperson at the ministry, Bikash Devkota said at a regular press briefing Wednesday afternoon.

On the occasion, Devkota provided the country's latest updates on the government's ongoing efforts to prevent and contain the COVID-19.

According to him, 3049 tests were carried out through PCR method while 692 tests were carried out through RDT method in the past 24 hours alone.

As of today, 21340 tests have been conducted through PCR method while 60319 tests have been carried out through RDT method for coronavirus across the country.

The spokesperson said that two new cases were reported earlier today, taking the COVID-19 national tally to 219. Of the coronavirus infected patients, 176 are males and 43 are females.

Among other provinces, the Province 2 is the most affected due to the COVID-19, where 96 persons have contracted the coronavirus as of today. Province 5 has 72 COVID-19 cases, Province 1 has 35, Bagmati Province has nine cases, Sudurpaschim Province has 5, and Gandaki Province has two COVID-19 cases. Karnali Province has not witnessed any COVID-19 cases so far.

14313 persons are at quarantine facilities across the country. There are 245 suspected coronavirus patients in various parts of the country, and they are receiving treatment in isolation.
