Health Minister assesses injured Fin Min’s condition at burn hospital

Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel visited Kirtipur Burn Hospital to assess the condition of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya. A hydrogen gas-filled balloon explosion at the Tourism Year inauguration ceremony in Pokhara injured both leaders.

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel visited Kirtipur Burn Hospital to assess the condition of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya. A hydrogen gas-filled balloon explosion at the Tourism Year inauguration ceremony in Pokhara injured both leaders.


Minister Paudel stated that the injured leaders were in stable condition and reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving burn treatment services.

“We are making burn treatment more accessible, faster, and more effective,” he said. “Ongoing improvements are already showing results.”


He interacted with doctors to review the injured leaders’ health status and inspected the hospital’s services. He emphasized the Ministry of Health’s focus on expanding and improving healthcare services to ensure effective burn treatment.


The Ministry of Health established a dedicated burn ward at the Trauma Center under Bir Hospital, which Minister Paudel personally inaugurated. The government is also preparing to expand burn treatment services to provincial hospitals.


Shedding light on the government’s policy to modernize and streamline burn treatment, Minister Paudel noted that improvements in the medical sector are becoming increasingly visible.
