DOTI, June 5: Health authorities in the Far Western Province (FWP) have been asked not to collect throat swab samples for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests for the coming five days.

The Provincial Health Directorate Office, Dipayal, issuing a written notice on Friday, directed the health administrators in Far Western Province not to collect the throat swab samples for five days from today.

There is only one RT-PCR Laboratory in FWP,  with the capacity of conducting 250 tests daily. The laboratory is yet to conduct PCR tests of 1, 083 swab samples. So, in a bid to prevent the collected samples from getting spoiled because of delay in testing, the Directorate has issued the notice to that effect.
