ADELAIDE, Australia, March 20:Paceman Josh Hazlewood justified his selection by taking four wickets to help Australia dismiss Pakistan for 213 on Friday in the Cricket World Cup quarterfinals.

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat, but his decision backfired as his lineup slumped to 24-2 in the sixth over with Mitchell Starc removing in-form opener Sarfraz Ahmed (10) in the fifth over and Hazlewood taking his first wicket in the next over to dismiss Ahmed Shehzad (4).

As he has so often in the tournament, Misbah went to the crease with his team in trouble but, after a narrow escape before he'd scored, was out for 34 attempting to hit Glenn Maxwell (2-43) out of the attack. Hazlewood, recalled for only his third game of the tournament, returned 4-35.

Scores : Pakistan 213 all out in 49.5 overs (Haris Sohail 41, Misbah-ul-Haq 34; Josh Hazlewood 4-35, Mitchell Starc 2-40, Glenn Maxwell 2-43).
