As per the tie up, HAMS will provide free health services including whole body check-up, medical examination, pathology services, treatment and rehabilitation for a year to Nepali players recommended by the Sirish Foundation.  As part of the deal, Sirish Foundation will make HAMS its partner in its programs, including publicity campaigns and events.

Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said that HAMS was delighted to connect with the Nepali sports sector through Sirish Foundation. “Players represent our country at the international level. But if they are injured while playing, they have to bear the expenses of their treatment.

We expect to aide our players in overcoming this situation. Sirish Foundation efforts in the area have brought respite to our players and we expect today’s announcement to further boost the confidence of our players.”  “Beside regular medical examination, we will also provide consultation services to players on their dietary needs,” added Pandey.

The Foundation, established by swimmer Sirish Gurung a month back, has provided scholarship to Judoka Nima Gharti Magar. Speaking at the program, Gurung said that the Foundation looks forward to provide scholarships to four other players within a year. “Good health is very important for a successful sports career. This agreement with HAMS will ensure that players have access to health services.”

Nepal National and International Players’ Association (NNIPA)’s President Dipak Shrestha said that agreements like this will motivate young players to play without hesitation. “For Nepali sports sector this is a historic initiation. Hopefully, players won’t have to face problems that we faced during our career.”
