Gravitational ropeway in Badimalika now operational

BAJURA, Feb 11: A gravity ropeway has been set up for the first time here at Badimalika Municipality for facilitating the transport of the supply of potatoes and buckwheat to inaccessible villages. 

The locals of Badimalika Municipality – 5 and 6 will be the chief beneficiaries, according to Consumer Committee Chairman, Prem Saud. 

The ropeway was set up in coordination of the District Agriculture Development Office, Bajura and financial assistance from the Practical Action Human Resources Centre. The ropeway has directly benefited 204 households in Badimalika – 6. 

The Consumer Committee extended an assistance of Rs 791,000 along with labor donation while the Centre under its development program provided Rs 1.8 million for installing the ropeway, Program Consumer Committee Chairman, Nir Bahadur Shahi said. The ropeway is 908 meters high above the ground. RSS
