KATHMANDU, June 18: The government has decided to withdraw the controversial Guthi bill. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal informed during the press meet.
The government had registered the bill at the National Assembly. Stating that the propaganda was created among the public, the government in a statement released after the press meet has cited that the government has withdrawn the bill from the upper house as it needs further discussion with the stakeholders.
The bill was widely criticized and opposed from many corners of society.
