KATHMANDU, July 23: Co-chairperson of Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the government was willing to hold discussions with Dr. Govinda KC and bring the debate to an end.

“We’d like to assure you that we’ll not contradict the demands that you’ve sought for. We’ll try to resolve the differences as much as possible. Hence, I heartily urge you to come for discussion.”

“However, this doesn’t mean that anyone can contest the government’s majority because we’ve been elected representatives of the citizens.”

Dahal said while addressing the 40th Commemoration Day of Pushpa Lal, the founder general secretary of Nepal Communist Party.  The former Prime Minister also questioned the rationale of resorting to violence and protests in the name of democracy. “Is it right for the opposition to resort to violence? Is this democracy? Or more simply, is this the democracy we’ve envisioned?” Dahal said.
