Govt under pressure to shift service centers

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Bowing to weeks of protests by locals of some Tarai districts, the government finally rolled back its decision to shift integrated service centers away from the district headquarters, accorig to TV channels.

Now, the government has come under pressure from locals of places that were going to benefit from the government decision had that been implemented.



Locals of Bardibas in Mahottari district and Chandranigahapur in Rautahat district have blocked the East-West Highway demanding implementation of the government decision, according to ABC Television and Kantipur Television.



ABC TV said the locals in Chandranigahapur have warned of calling an indefinite strike until the government implements its decision. Likewise, locals in Bardibas burnt tires and blocked the highway.
