Govt to provide Rs 5 lakh each to families of Dhanusha bus victims

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The government is to provide Rs 500,000 each to the family of those who died in a bus accident in Dhanusha. Six persons were electrocuted on Friday when the bus carrying members of a marriage party came in contact with live wire of 11,000 voltage at Sabaila municipality-4.

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The government is to provide Rs 500,000 each to the family of those who died in a bus accident in Dhanusha. Six persons were electrocuted on Friday when the bus carrying members of a marriage party came in contact with live wire of 11,000 voltage at Sabaila municipality-4. 


Minister for Energy, Hydropower and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun, today took the minister-level decision in this regard. The Ministry also decided to bear all the expenses of the treatment of all the injured.

Out of 21 people injured in the incident, 19 have already returned home. One of the injured, Phool Kumari Kunwar, is receiving treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital while another injured Pawan Pariyar is undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. 


The Ministry would provide the compensation amount to the victim families through Nepal Electricity Authority. 

Six persons died and 21 people were injured on January 25 when the bus returning to Sindhuli from Kothiya Baltiya carrying members of a marriage party procession came in contact with power supply cable hanging above.
