General Secretary Thapa made a promise to the businessmen to move forward with the immediate reform plan for the long-term improvement of the economy with NC going to the government. He said that it is not a good sign that there is no situation of creating more than 18,000 jobs annually in the country. General Secretary Thapa said that structural reforms are necessary for economic development. He mentioned that NC would make sincere efforts to solve the problems seen in the economic cycle by focusing on the structural reforms of the economy.

He said that he had never heard such complaints about the deterioration of the economy before, adding that even the prime minister and MPs in parliament are saying that the economy is in a crisis. He said that NC would join the government  and take initiatives to cure the ills plaguing Nepal’s economy. He also said that without immediate structural reforms, the economy was likely to collapse at some point.

General Secretary Thapa said that it is too late to make structural reforms to improve the economy and if no action is taken now, the economy will face further crisis. He said that some important 22/24 laws need to be finalized from the current session of parliament and said that the NC will take initiatives for that.
