Govt selects schools for awards

KATHMANDU, Sept. 6: The Ministry of Education has selected top schools for granting award on the occasion of this year´s Education Day and the International Literacy Day.



Every year, the government awards two schools each in the national and regional levels based on their results in the SLC exam.



Tarun Secondary School of Balaju has been selected among the community schools. It was awarded in the previous years as well.



The national level prize carries a purse of Rs 200,000 while Rs 100,000 is given as the regional level prize.



Similarly, the Elixir Secondary School has been selected among the private schools for the national prize.



Similarly, Janata Kalika Secondary School of Udayapur from the eastern region, Gynodaya Secondary School of Purano Kalimati from the central region, Janakalyan Secondary School of Bhimpokhara of Baglung from the western region, Malika Secondary School of Dhapa of Jumla from the mid-western region and Ratna Secondary School of Seliphal of Bajura from the far-west region have been selected among the community schools for the regional level prize this year.



Likewise, Manteshwori Secondary School of Bajura district would be given the regional level prize from the remote district worth Rs 100,000.
