KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The government has released Rs 67.5 million for 15 local governments affected by the flash floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa last Wednesday.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) released the amount by Friday, August 28, for the 15 flood-affected local governments.

According to the NDRRMA, the funds will be distributed to the affected local governments based on their needs.
The 35th meeting of the Authority’s Executive Committee, held on Thursday, decided to release the amount from the funds available in its treasury.
The grants will be provided based on the classification of areas as severely affected, affected and normally affected, according to the Authority.
The affected local governments include Uttar Gaya, Gosainkunda, Kalika and Amachhoding rural municipalities in Rasuwa; Bidur and Belkot municipalities and Tarkeshwor and Kispang rural municipalities in Nuwakot; Benighat Rorang, Gajuri, Galchi and Siddhalekh rural municipalities in Dhading; Gandaki Rural Municipality in Gorkha; and Devghat and Abukhaireni rural municipalities in Tanahun.
Immediate relief will be provided to the affected local governments through the Central Disaster Management Fund and district disaster management committees, in accordance with the Local Disaster Management Fund Operation Procedures, 2079 BS.
