Govt recommends ambassadors to India, UK and the USA

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The government has recommended ambassadors to India, the United Kingdom and the USA.


According to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's press aide Gobinda Pariyar, Dr Shanker Sharma has been recommended as ambassador of Nepal to India, Dr Sridhar Khatri as ambassador of Nepal to the USA and Gyan Chandra Acharya as Nepal's ambassador to the United Kingdom.

While Dr Sharma previously served as Nepal's ambassador to the USA, Khatri is a renowned expert of international relations. Acharya served as Under Secretary General of the United Nations after retiring from Foreign Service of the Government of Nepal.


The government had recently recalled all the ambassadors sent by the erstwhile KP Oli-led government. The appointment of new ambasasdors will begin after receiving agreement from their host country.
