The meeting ended inconclusively after the entrepreneurs demanded that the government scrap Petroleum and Gas Transaction Regulatory Order passed on March 13.

However, both the parties have agreed to continue talks. The next meeting is slated for Wednesday.

The order introduced by the government paves the way for private players to import, process and distribute petroleum products, and ending the monopoly of state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).
