During the talks at Ministry for Foreign Affairs, government team asked the front to discontinue agitation arguing that their fundamental demands have already been addressed.
The front said the talks yielded no results as the government team failed to bring forth a concrete view on federalism.
“Earlier, we had sought government’s outlook on federalism. But, they failed to come up with it,” said leader Laxman Lal Karna of Sadhbhawana Party,” Thus, talks ended inconclusively.”
Responding to journalists, coordinator of government talks team Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa said the front refused to postpone protest although most of their demands expect delineation have been fulfilled.
“Demands put forth to create conducive environment for talks have been addressed. We requested to stop protest. But, they paid no heed,” Thapa said.
The talks will be held again on Sunday.
Earlier today, a meeting of High Level Political Coordination Committee (HLPCC) held at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar decided to exhibit utmost flexibility to address demands of the agitating front. HLPCC had suggested the government team to create environment for talks by addressing preconditions of the front.
