Govt-Limbuwan talks on Friday

ILAM, Dec 14: Federal Limbuwan State Council that has been demanding representation in State Restructuring Commission (SRC) is holding talks with the government on Friday.



The council, which has been staging fast- unto-death, for the last four days, on Wednesday called off its protest after receiving a letter from Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction for talks. [break]



“We will continue our protests if the government denies our representation in SRC as per the earlier agreement,” said Dak Prasad Gautam, central member of the committee.



The members of the committee have been staging protests after the government formed a seven-member SRC. Similarly, the council has expressed serious concern over the government´s failure to implement the five-point deal reached in March, 2008.



Meantime, police on Wednesday released four members of the council who were arrested from Ilam, Rakse.
