Govt appoints panel to probe Haq murder

KATHMANDU, May 21: The government Tuesday formed a three-member committee under Nepal Police AIG Dinkar Shumsher Rana to probe the killing of former lawmaker Sadrul Miyan Haq, who had been found murdered early in the morning at his petrol pump in Saptari.



Eastern regional DIG Parshuram Khatri and Eastern regional director of National Investigation Department Pushkar Prasad Chapagain, are the members of the committee. The probe panel has started investigation into the murder. [break]



Haq, who had been elected to the erstwhile Constituent Assembly as an independent candidate from the Constituency No 5 of Saptari district, was found dead with his throat slit with some sharp weapon. No arrest has been made yet in connection with the murder.
