A cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint ambassadors to six different countries and permanent missions of Nepal in New York and Geneva.

Cabinet sources said that the government has decided to send Joint Secretary Lok Bahadur Thapa as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in New York. Thapa previously served as Ambassador of Nepal to Belgium.

Similarly, joint secretaries Tej Bahadur Chhetri has been appointed as Ambassador of Nepal to the UAE, Ghanashyam Lamsal to Kuwait, Dhan Bahadur Oli to Thailand, Sudhir Bhattarai to France and Ram Prasad Subedi to Geneva.
