Govt announces relief package for families of Sunsari, Siraha unrest victims

The protests, which began in Sunsari on July 26, claimed the lives of three people in Sunsari and one person in Siraha. More than a dozen others sustained injuries during the unrest.

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The government has announced relief and compensation for the families of those killed during recent unrest in Sunsari and Siraha, while pledging to cover the full treatment expenses of those injured in the incidents.



The decision was taken by a Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday. Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel said the government would provide assistance to the families of the deceased and ensure proper medical care for the injured.
