Kathmandu June 13: The government Thursday announced to hold fresh Constituent Assembly elections on November 19.

A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar fixed the election date and decided to forward the election ordinance to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav for endorsement, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Poudel. [break]

Unable to sort out inter-party differences, the High Level Political Committee (HPLC) earlier had entrusted the government with the task of determining an election date.

According to Minister Poudel, the meeting also formed a five-member commission on delineation of constituencies, under former Supreme Court Justice Tahir Ali Ansari. The panel is asked to submit a report within a month.

Meanwhile, the government has urged all agitating parties to come to negotiation to resolve their problems. In an appeal made to the agitating parties, the government has asked them to help conduct the election on the scheduled date.
