Govt, 33-party alliance talks ends inconclusively

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: A talks between government and CPN-Maoist led an alliance of 33-parties ended inconclusively as it could not enter into the subject matter on Tuesday.



The government talks team was led by Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire whereas the talks team of the 33-party alliance was led by Dev Gurung of the CPN-Maoist.

In the meeting, the 33-party alliance put forth the same 18-points demand which was presented by them before the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) few days earlier.[break]



During the meeting, Ghimire-led talks team requested the leaders of the 33-party alliance to sit for the next round of talks after short listing their demands.

Emerging from the meeting, Guring said, “The talks has move forward in positive manner,” adding, “Government has listened our voices as we have been pressing for since last April-May.
