KATHMANDU, June 25: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Dr Biswonath Paudel has made public the details of his property along with that of his wife, Pratibha Sharma, as required following his appointment.
His wife owns a house in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-4, built on 5 aana and 2 daam of land, which was purchased for Rs 15.5 million. The property is stated to be both self-earned and ancestral. Another property is located in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi, valued at Rs 6 million.
Governor Poudel owns 45 tola of gold jewelry and diamond jewelry worth around Rs 1.5 million. The gold is listed as ancestral property, while the diamonds are self-earned.

The governor’s property details show that he has made significant investments in the stock market. He has declared shares worth over Rs 140 million and holds stakes in hydropower and investment companies.
He owns 244,176 promoter shares in Sanima Bank, valued at Rs 24.4 million. These shares had also made him a board director of the bank in the past.
He also owns 92,579 ordinary shares of Sanima Mai Hydropower, 188,000 shares in Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower, and 186,834 shares in Globeco Pvt. Ltd. His wife holds 75,000 shares in the same company.
Furthermore, he owns 500,000 shares in United Hydropower and 250,000 in Chitwan Energy. Altogether, the governor has declared 1,536,589 shares under his name.
He has disclosed bank savings of Rs 2.068 million under his and his wife’s names, across accounts in Sanima Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, and Prabhu Bank. He also holds a dollar account with USD 66 under his name and USD 4,446 under his wife’s name — approximately Rs 622,000 at the current exchange rate.
His wife also owns a Suzuki car, purchased in 2020, for Rs 4.4 million.
