KATHMANDU, April 20: The government has decided to stand as a guarantor for the purchase of two wide-body aircraft by Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
A meeting of the Council of Ministers today took a decision in this regard.
It is noted that NAC on April 7 signed a final deal with a US-based Company to buy two wide-body aircraft at a cost of Rs 21.90 billion.

Likewise, the Cabinet meeting decided to grant permission to the European Union to purchase a piece of land in Nepal, according to Energy Minister Janardan Sharma who was also present in the meeting.
Similarly, as per the meeting decision, land registration fees while handing over a community shelter to the Musahar community in Bardibas Municipality of Mahottari shall be waived off.
Besides, the meeting decided to extend the tenure of Women Children Day Care Centre, approve the foreign visit of the Sports Minister and grant permission to the Nepal Army delegation also comprising the Army Chief for the US visit.
The meeting agreed to give permission for cutting trees in various forests and implement Education Ministry's work performance evaluation-based system.
As per further decisions of the meeting, a museum and a park shall be established at Dumja of Sindhuli, the birthplace of Nepali Congress founding leader and former Prime Minister BP Koirala in his commemoration.
Likewise, a park shall be constructed in Ramechhap in commemoration of Pushpa Lal, the founder of the Communist Party of Nepal. Pushpa Lal was born in Ramechhap.
The government agreed to allocate budget Rs 5 million for each project for immediately starting the construction works of the parks in two areas, as stated by Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narsingh KC. RSS
