KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Arjun Narsingh KC has urged the government to work in the spirit of the Gen Z movement, saying the protests aimed not merely at changing the government but at bringing broader changes in governance and political culture.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, KC said the government formed with strong public expectations and renewed hope following the movement must live up to those expectations.

“The movement was not about supporting or opposing any particular political party, nor was it merely about changing the government. It was about changing the political culture and the way the government operates, ensuring good governance, and ending lawlessness and impunity,” he said.
KC said the current government must act in line with the movement's aspirations and spirit.
He also expressed concern over what he described as gaps in the government’s response to people stranded by the recent floods, urging the authorities to pay greater attention to the safety and needs of those affected.
