RASUWA, Aug 27: Pilgrims returning from Gosainkunda after the Janaipurnima fair are compelled to pay high bus fares.
Transportation operators are taking the advantage of a high number of pilgrims compelling them to travel without a ticket and taking high bus fare. The normal bus fare from Dhunche to Kathmandu ranges from Rs.500 up to Rs.700. However, they are now taking up to Rs.2000.
Passengers are sharing that they are compelled to pay high rate as the operators said them about the low number of vehicles for their journey back to Kathmandu.
After the pilgrims complained about the high rate, the ticket counters are working on it and the passengers are lining up for their tickets. Also, the District Administration Office, Rasuwa, informed that the vehicles on queue would be taken under custody if they were found taken on reserve.
“ We will be punishing any transportation operator charging high rate,” said Krishna Poudel, CDO, Rasuwa.
