DARJEELING, July 25: The sixth round of tripartite talks between the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM), West Bengal state government representatives and the central Indian government ended inconclusively on Saturday after the state government did not clearly express its views on the GJM demand for a separate state for Nepali speakers in north east India.

However, both sides agreed that the state government would put its views unambiguously in a report and submit it to the central government.

“As the sate government could not be clear on our demands, we have given it two weeks to prepare a report to submit it to the central government,” said Dr Harka Bahadur Chhetri, GJM spokesperson and a member of GJM talks team.

The meeting was held in New Delhi. After the report is submitted, the two sides would hold another round of meeting on August 17.
