MUGU, Jan 11: An aircraft of Goma Air that had flown from Nepalgunj with 15 passengers on board averted an accident at the Rara-based Talcha Airport on Wednesday though one of its tires flattened while landing.
District Police Office, Mugu, quoting police at the airport said that the rear right tire of the aircraft burst while landing at the airport at around 11 am today. But fortunately, nothin untoward happened and all the passengers and crew members are safe.
Goma Air Managing Director Manoj Karki claimed that the tire didn’t burst.
“After landing at the airport, the pilot inspected the aircraft before returning to Nepalgunj and found that the tire of the aircraft had eroded,” Karki told Republica Online, “Then, a new tire was brought and replaced.”
The aircraft returned to Nepalgunj at 2:15 pm after technicians replaced the defunct tire.
