Acharya will get the first phase training from November 5-12 at the United States Golfers Teachers Federation in Florida. At this federation, Acharya will be provided overall knowledge about golf.[break]
Acharya´s main training will be at Jim McLean Golf Academy in Florida from November 19-26, informed general secretary of Nepal Professional Golfers Association Deepak Acharya, brother of Rupak.
Acharya said that his training in the most renowned place for golf will help him improve his game. “My strength in the game is short shots like chipping and putting. Since swing is the most important part of golf, I hope to get good lessons on it during my one month training.”
Deepak Acharya, who arranged the training for his brother, said that Rupak´s training at the Jim McLean will fully focused on the techniques of the game. “If one week training is not sufficient for him he will train for another week.”
Deepak further added, “After his visit to the USA, he will get more knowledge about the game and will also know the management sector of the game.”
Rupak is the son of famous golfer Sambhu Acharya and started to play the game at the age of six.
The thirty-one-year-old Rupak has won more than 25 amateur titles and two professional titles. He has been the number one golfer of Nepal from 2007-2010. He was the first amateur golfer to win Surya Nepal Tour 2010 central open tournament. On his debut as a professional golfer, Acharya had won Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship in 2010.

Acharya had won Rs 486,000 during the Surya Nepal Masters, which is the biggest cash prize won by any individual player in Nepal. Acharya relishes the memory of winning his double gold during the fifth national games in team event and individual category respectively.
He also played a key role in guidnig Nepal to finish in the second position during the SAARC Golf Championship in 2007.
Rupak has received one of the biggest amounts of sponsorship for training in USA.
He will be receiving $ 36,000 for the training. This is one of the largest personal sponsorship provided to any individual but the identity of the sponsor has not been disclosed.
Rupak said that the contract of the sponsorship will be signed soon and the name of the sponsor will be made public later.
Rupak will also participate in the qualifying games for the second or the third tier golf tour during his US visit.
