KATHMANDU, Oct 27: On Friday, gold prices in Nepal surged to an unprecedented level, as reported by the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations. The per tola price of gold reached an all-time high of Rs 116,000, marking a significant milestone.
The previous week had seen a halt in the determination of gold prices due to the festivities of Dashain. The last recorded price, just before the holiday, stood at Rs 115,500 per tola, also a record high at that time. However, in the wake of Dashain, gold prices ascended by Rs 500 per tola, setting a new pinnacle.
In contrast, silver prices have remained relatively stable, holding at Rs 1,400 per tola today.
Meanwhile, the global gold market reflects a value of US$ 1986.87 per ounce on Friday, with silver following suit, rising to $22.89 per ounce.
