KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Gokarneshwar Municipality has decided to open all private and government schools within the municipal area from October 2.
Since the enforcement of the nation-wide lockdown, the schools and colleges have remained shut for more than six months. Some schools with resources have been conducting online classes as well.
The education sector is one of the hardest hit sectors by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a press statement issued by the municipal office on Sunday, Gokarneshwar Municipality decided to open the schools by following health safety protocols.
“A meeting of the school management committees and guardians made a decision to this effect,” reads the press statement.
The schools will be resumed either on shift basis or in different phases.
The municipal office has also directed the school administrations in the area to collect fees only from the month of October in this academic session.
