Global IME Bank celebrates 18th anniversary

KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Global IME Bank Limited celebrated its 18th anniversary on Thursday.


Established on January 2, 2007, the bank entered its 19th year on Thursday. Speaking at a special program, Global IME Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal said the bank is prioritizing enhancing its service quality alongside mergers and business expansion.


He emphasized making the bank's services more efficient and technology-friendly while focusing on customer satisfaction. “Considering the current banking needs, it is essential to make our services digital and technology-friendly. However, while embracing digital technology, security must be given equal importance. The adoption of digital technology should meet minimum security standards,” he said.

He noted that the bank has excelled in most financial indicators during its 18 years of establishment. He attributed the bank's current position to adherence to policies of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank, emphasizing that achieving goals requires hard work and dedication.


Surendra Raj Regmi, chief executive officer of Global IME Bank, highlighted that the bank has been advancing with the goal of providing innovative and customer-friendly services in line with the digital age. He pledged to offer even higher-quality banking services in the coming years while focusing on customer satisfaction.


On the occasion of its 18th anniversary, Global IME Bank honored 166 employees who have served the bank for 15 years.


Global IME Bank was recognized as the Best Bank in Nepal under two categories by Global Finance Best Bank Awards 2024 and Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024. Additionally, the bank has been honored by various national and international organizations in different categories.


Global IME Bank has branch networks in all 77 districts. It operates 355 branch offices, 384 ATMs, 237 branchless banking services, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and 3 foreign representative offices, delivering excellent services to its customers through over 1,100 service centers.


In addition to providing banking services to Nepali citizens, the bank also offers remittance services from various countries worldwide. It facilitates remittance inflows from countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, Jordan, and others, reads a bank issued press statement.
