Speaking at a Reporters Club Nepal program in the capital, the pro-royalist leader argued that the principle of separation of powers does not apply to the present situation as the country currently has no legislature and the executive is reduced to a mere caretaking status. [break]
Once the polls are held and the parliament is elected, then the separation of powers will come into function automatically, Thapa added, stressing that the political parties should not waste time further in going to elections.
He also made it clear that his party would boycott elections under the Baburam Bhattarai government, saying the elections will not be free and fair. Likewise, he said the country should do away with the interim constitution and adopt preferably the 1990 constitution if new elections fail to be a reality by mid-June.
