Ten-year-old Mamata Kumari Mahato, daughter of Ram Bilas Mahato of Maleth VDC-2, died when their house caught fire from a kerosene lamp last night. [break]
Mahato´s wife and two sons, including an infant son, sustained burn injuries in the fire. They have been taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences at Dharan for treatment, police said.
Similarly, goods and property worth Rs. 800,000 were reduced to ashes as fire gutted four houses at Deuri Bharuwa VDC in Sptari district last night. Police said the fire started from the house of one Ramashish Mandal at Deuri Bharuwa VDC-3. The fire was brought under control by locals with the help of fire engines from Rajbiraj.
Likewise, property worth Rs. 100,000 was damaged when fire gutted the house of Kalicharan Chaudhary at Rajbiraj Municipality-5 last night, according to police.
