Girl dies of snakebite, two injured in bus attack

SINDHULIMADHI, June 26: A girl died after being bitten by a poisonous snake at local Dudhauli VDC-9.



The deceased is seven-year-old Bhumika Karki, the daughter of Nara Bahadur Karki.



A local man said the girl died as she could not get immediate treatment. He said daily two to three cases of snake-bite are reported in Kamalakhonch area of the district.



Meanwhile, two passengers were injured when an unidentified group attacked on a passenger bus in front of Hamro F.M. at the By-pass road on the East-West highway Friday morning in Chitwan.



According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the bus that came under the attack was heading towards Kathmandu from Biratnagar.



Those injured in the attack are the bus driver Ganesh Shrestha, 40, of Naikap, Kathmandu and another unidentified man.



The windscreen of the bus has been completely damaged due to the attack.
