A total of 20 persons have contracted the disease in the district till now with eight of them from Dhangadhi Municipality alone.
NSU leader gets ´death threat´
RUKUM: A contractor in Khalanga, Rukum, Surat Jung Malla has allegedly issued death threat against Nepal Students Union central member Khadak Bahadur Dangi. Dangi received the threat after he voiced against irregularities in the ration contract of Nepal Army in the district.
Dangi said Malla threatened to kill the the former within Tihar festival.
NTU calls for nationwide closure of schools
BARA: Nepal Teachers Union (NTU) has called for the closure of schools throughout the nation on Wednesday to protest the murder of Suresh Prasad Yadav, a primary teacher of Khajuriya.
NTU has also decided to organize a mourning rally in each district headquarters and to dispatch protest letters from District Administration Office to the Ministry of Home Affairs on the same day. NTU, in a press statement issued on Tuesday, demanded that the teachers be ensured security and warned of strict action if their demand is not met. Meanwhile, educational institutions in Narayani Zone largely remained closed on Wednesday.
UML office construction resumes
SINDHUPACHOWK: A decade after laying the foundation stone for its office, the CPN-UML has begun construction of its office at district headquarters, Chautara, recently. The cost of construction for the building has been estimated to be Rs two million, a local leader of the party said.
The building will have two rooms including a meeting hall.
