GenZ Movement Alliance demands resignation of all constitutional commissioners including CIAA chief

The Gen Z leaders have demanded resignation citing they were appointed ‘without parliamentary hearing’ by the former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

KATHMANDU, Oct 7 — The GenZ Movement Alliance on Tuesday submitted a formal petition at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), demanding the resignation of Chief Commissioner Prem Kumar Rai.



They are also visiting other constitutional bodies asking all other commissioners for resignation citing they were appointed ‘without parliamentary hearing’ by the former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

A couple of representatives from the alliance that is made from 10 different Gen Z organisations reached the CIAA office in Tangal to file the demand. The petition raised serious concerns over the legitimacy and impartiality of the commissioners.Gen z demands.jpeg


The alliance also cited allegations linking Rai to the controversial wide-body aircraft procurement scandal as grounds for his immediate resignation. Representatives from the GenZ Movement Alliance belong to Gen Z organisations like Indigenous Gen-Z Collective, Gen-Z Movement  Alliance (National Council), Howtodeshbikash, Gen-Z Parsa, Muslim Gen Z Nepal, Nawa Yug, New Wave, Gen Z Movement Alliance-Districts Councils Forum, Gen-Z Chitwan and Gen Z Digital Dastak.
