KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Gen Z leader Miraj Dhungana has called for the resignation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki and urged that the Gen Z movement not be undermined.
Dhungana made the appeal while visiting the Kathmandu District Police Range to demand the release of fellow activist Prakash Sharma. He also expressed concern that the government formed after the 5 March House of Representatives (HoR) election would not work for the country’s development in line with the spirit of the youth-led protest.

Voicing concern over the possible return of leaders from traditional parties to government, Dhungana demanded that Prime Minister Karki resign if the interim administration fails in national development. He criticised the interim government for being “hijacked” and for ignoring the demands of Gen Z youth.
Activist Prakash Sharma also joined in issuing notices calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister and Home Minister, citing the government’s inaction on the movement’s demands.
Sharma recounted his recent arrest on Saturday evening, emphasising that even though the interim government was formed on the basis of the Gen Z movement, their concerns remain unaddressed.
