Gang assaults student leader

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Four unidentified people have assaulted the leader of the All Nepal National Free Students Union of Tahachal Education Campus near the campus gate on Monday.



Prakash Shahi, the chairman of UML´s student wing at the campus, was attacked with helmet and iron chain while he was talking with his colleagues at Arghakhanchi café at the campus gate, police said.[break]

Shahi, who received injury to the head and was admitted to Kathmandu Model Hospital. He was later discharged after minor treatment, according to Pankar Bhandari, a member of the Free Students Union at the campus.



Police said they are investigating the case.
