TRISHULI (NUWAKOT), Aug 22: Vehicular movement has been obstructed on the Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi road due to landslides with huge boulders.
According to District Traffic Police Office Chief Jejung Karki, traffic on the dedicated double lane road has been completely halted due to a landslide with boulders falling on the road near Belkotgadhi Municipality-8, Borokhola in Nuwakot on Wednesday night.
China to construct Trishuli-Galchhi hydro project
The road from Devighat to Galchhi via Mahadev Phant has been completely blocked. There is no alternative road around this route, which has created troubles in the movement of transport vehicles. The police urged the vehicles heading to Kerung via Trishuli of Nuwakot and Rasuwagadhi from Galchhi, Dhading to reach Kathmandu from Galchhi and use the Tokha-Chhahare road.
Chief of Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi Road Project Office, Dhruba Kumar Shrestha said it would take time to bring the road back into operation as a 'breaker' has to be installed to remove the boulders.
Human resources with heavy equipment have been mobilized since this morning to clear the landslide debris, officials said.
