KATHMANDU, April 17: The number of foreign tourists entering Nepal through the western Gaddachauki border point has been steadily increasing in recent years, according to the Gadda Chauki Immigration Office.
Chief Immigration Officer Krishnananda Joshi stated that although the number of foreign arrivals through this point had dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic, a steady upward trend has been observed since the past two years.

In 2023, a total of 983 foreign tourists entered Nepal through this route. The figure rose to 1,154 in 2024. So far in 2025, 459 tourists have entered the country via Gaddachauki, with 289 arrivals recorded in the month of March alone.
Tourists entering through this border often visit destinations such as Pokhara, Bardiya, Chitwan, and Lumbini, said Joshi. Visitors from France, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Germany, Australia, Russia, the UK, the US, Argentina, and other countries frequently use this entry point.
