KATHMANDU, Nov 6: At a time when the opposition parties are seeking all-party consensus for full budget, two leaders of the ruling parties have claimed that the present government itself would bring budget.

The full budget would come before mid-November and the President should approve that to prevent the nation from economic crisis, they said, adding, the budget would be brought by the incumbent government on the basis of consensus among the political parties except the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML since the latter have already declined it.[break]

Talking to the National News Agency (RSS), Laxman Lal Karna of the United Democratic Madhesi Front opined that the President should accept the new budget prepared by the incumbent government to avert economic crisis possible in the absence of the full budget.

The opposition parties who were against the active role of the President in the past, are now attempting to make the President active, he blamed, seeking a mediatory role from the President for forging the national consensus among the political parties.

Similarly, Prime Minister´s political advisor Devendra Poudel accused the opposition parties of seeking the Prime Minister´s resignation by sidelining the issues of budget, fresh election and constitution- drafting.

The upcoming budget would include some new programmes, he added.

In contrary, Congress leader Ananda Prasad Dhungana stressed that Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai should immediately resign from the post since his government has already failed to deliver the new constitution. The incumbent government should keep the door open for the formation of national consensus, giving up the totalitarian mindset, he urged.
