As per the decision, the camp will provide up to 350,000 litres of free drinking per day. [break]
The flood in the Seti river on May 5 had damaged the main water pipes that supply water to the locals of Kaski. The British Gurkha camp, however, was unaffected by the flood.
“The scheme has been approved by UK, and British Gurkha camp is holding consultations with the local authorities, and have offered up to 350,000 litres of free drinking water,” reads a press statement issued by the British Embassy on Thursday.
The statement added that the small relief aims at helping those in need, not only Ex-Gurkha servicemen and their families, but also from the wider community.
