Fourth edition of NIFF to screen 63 films from 31 countries

Nepal Film and Cultural Foundation is all set to showcase 63 films from 31 countries during the fourth edition of Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF). According to a press statement released by the foundation, the festival is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from May 6 to May 10.

Nepal Film and Cultural Foundation is all set to showcase 63 films from 31 countries during the fourth edition of Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF). According to a press statement released by the foundation, the festival is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from May 6 to May 10.

This year the festival’s slogan is 'Celebration of stories from the world'. In the festival, there are six categories for awards and screening. They are Feature Film Competition (International), Live Action Short Films (International), Animated Short Films (International), Documentary Competition, Feature Film Competition (National) and Short Film Competition (National) where the best films under each category will be awarded.


The winning film under the category Best Feature Film (International) will receive the Gautama Buddha Award along with a cash prize of $1500. In addition to this, NIFF 2021 will also host the ‘Pandemic Film Exhibit’, which will showcase short films and documentaries focused on the topic of pandemics, and the best film in this category will also be awarded $ 500 and a trophy.
